Pumpkin Trail and "Light the Night" Event

Sharon Audubon
Event Date:
Friday, October 27, 2023 (All day) to Sunday, November 5, 2023 (All day)

The Sharon Audubon Center will once again be hosting a community Pumpkin Trail on the Center grounds Friday, Oct. 27 through November 5. The trail will be open daily from sunrise to sunset. Guests can stroll through the easy-walking path to view the creative jack-o-lanterns.

The community’s help is needed in making the trail bigger and better than ever before! Everyone is welcome to submit a pumpkin for the Pumpkin Trail and all children (12 and under) will receive a small thank you gift for entering! Be creative; think funny or spooky faces, nature or animal themed. Carved pumpkins are preferred, but can also be decorated. No inappropriate, political, or gory entries will be permitted, as this is a family friendly event. Group displays are also welcome, so gather your scout group, sporting team, school group, or business, and have some fun! All entries may be dropped off on the designated lawn area at the Audubon Center October 24th through Thursday, Oct. 27 at noon, or by making other arrangements with Audubon staff.

A special night time viewing event, “Light the Night,” will kick off the opening of the trail on Friday, October 27 from 7-8:30pm. Guests can enjoy all the carved glowing pumpkins and other non-scary surprises lit up in the darkness along the way. Enjoy a warm, fresh apple cider donut and some hot apple cider from the Great Cape Baking Company food truck, sip a cup of free hot chocolate, and meet some live birds of prey. Children will have the opportunity to participate in cookie decorating and meet some friendly animal characters from our Enchanted Forest, and more. Feel free to come in costume if you wish and be sure to bring your own flashlight for the trail. Admission for this event is $15 per carload.

Special thanks to our sponsors Oppenheimer Environmental Fund, Northwest CT Realty, and Nuvance Health.
